The base price for Solarpunk is 22.99 EUR / 22.99 USD. In other regions and on different platforms, the final price may vary slightly depending on the local currency and the pricing options suggested by each platform. One exception is PlayStation in Europe, where the game is priced at 24.99 EUR. This is due to available pricing tiers and agreements between the involved partners. We know this is a little higher than the standard price, and we are sorry to our European PlayStation players. Please see it as a small extra contribution to support the game. Thank you for understanding and supporting Solarpunk. 🌻
The keys will be sent out on Monday (June 8th), shortly before release. We understand that this is very close to launch and apologize for the late delivery. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Have fun playing Solarpunk! 🌻
Solarpunk is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, but not to Nintendo Switch 1 due to performance reasons and development priorities. Bringing Solarpunk to Nintendo Switch 1 would require major technical adjustments and optimization work because of the platform’s hardware limitations. Unfortunately, we were not able to complete this within the available development time while still delivering the experience we want players to have. We understand that this may be disappointing for Nintendo Switch 1 players, and we are sorry. ### 🌻Solarpunk | Why did you not communicate this earlier? We intentionally waited before confirming specific platforms until we were confident about what we could realistically deliver. We did not want to promise a platform version too early and then risk disappointing players later. However, we understand that the communication may not have been clear enough, and we apologize for that. Thank you for your understanding and support. 🌻
Thanks for taking the time to report Solarpunk bugs — we really appreciate it. Please submit them through our Solarpunk bug report form. If you'd like a personal reply from our team, send us a message via the Can I help? button at the bottom right. Save files If you can, please also share your save files so we can investigate properly. You can find them here: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Solarpunk\Saved\SaveGames Crashes and performance issues If you run into a crash, a performance issue or any other problem, the log files are a huge help. The easiest option is to zip this entire folder and attach it to your report: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Solarpunk\Saved Just replace USERNAME with your Windows user name. Inside that folder you'll find: Crash reports and dump files: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Solarpunk\Saved\Crashes Logs: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Solarpunk\Saved\Logs When does the error happen? It would also be great if you could briefly describe when the error happens, for example: On startup While loading a save During gameplay After pressing a key or moving the mouse Every time or only sometimes
Welcome to Solarpunk. We are happy you are here. 🌻 Before you start, please keep in mind that Solarpunk was mainly developed by a team of two people. It is not a huge production made by 100 developers. It is a calm, cozy survival crafting game about building, farming, exploring floating islands, and creating your own peaceful home in the sky. Here are a few tips that should help you get started smoothly. Choose Soft Mode if you want a more relaxed experience Soft Mode is made for cozy players who do not want too much pressure. If you mainly want to build, farm, explore, and enjoy the atmosphere, this mode might be perfect for you. Build water containers early One of the first things you should do is build water containers. They help you store water and make sure you have enough to drink, especially when it does not rain for a while. Later, you can also research a carafe and boil water with the oven. This is very useful when you are traveling or when rain is rare. Read the Survival Guide Craft the Survival Guide as soon as possible and take a look at it. It explains many important systems and can help you whenever you are unsure what to do next. For example, if you need more animal products like eggs, the Survival Guide explains how animal breeding works. Start building while your crops are growing Sometimes you will wait for your plants to grow. Use that time to start building and decorating your first little home. Solarpunk is not only about progression. It is also about creating a cozy place that feels like yours. 🏡 Protect your plants from thunderstorms Plants can be destroyed during thunderstorms. To keep them safe, build a greenhouse. This becomes especially important once you have crops that you really need for progression. Iron patches can be mined with the pickaxe If you find iron patches, you can hit them with your pickaxe. This is an important early resource, so keep an eye out while exploring. Wheat is not on the starting island If you are looking for wheat and cannot find it, do not worry. Wheat does not grow on the starting island. You will need to explore further to find it. Airships are personal in co-op In co-op, only the person who built an airship can use that airship. Your co-op partner needs to build their own airship. Later in the game, you can unlock faster airships, so exploration becomes much smoother over time. How to start co-op mode To play with friends, start a new world in Solarpunk. Then press `Esc` , choose Host Game, press `Esc` again, and invite your friends. Roof building takes a little patience Building roofs can feel a bit tricky at the beginning. Be patient with it. Once you understand how the pieces connect, it becomes much easier. Use the “Unstuck Me” button if needed Some players have trouble finding the Unstuck Me button. You can find it in the menu under: Settings → General → all the way at the bottom Use it if you ever get stuck somewhere. Take your time Solarpunk is meant to be calm and relaxing. You do not need to rush everything. Build your home, grow your crops, explore new islands, care for your animals, and enjoy the journey at your own pace. ☀️
While in the Building Menu, hold Up on the D-pad and use the right thumbstick to adjust the object’s height. To rotate the object, hold Right on the D-pad and use the right thumbstick.
No. Solarpunk currently does not have a pause feature. Opening the menu with `Esc` does not pause the game either, so the world will continue running while the menu is open.
Some Kickstarter pledges include more than one game key. If you only received one key so far, please make sure that you completed the platform selection for all keys in your BackerKit survey. BackerKit manages the key distribution and previously shared this information: “This selection is for your pledge level game key only. Add-ons with additional game keys will make platform selections between the Add-ons and Confirmation section of the survey.” This means that your main pledge key and any additional add-on keys may need to be selected in different parts of the survey. If you are missing a second key, please go back to your BackerKit survey and check the Add-ons and Confirmation section to make sure the platform for your additional key was selected as well. Thank you for your patience and sorry for the confusion. 🌻
🌻Solarpunk | Fatal Error on Windows PC Some players on Windows PC may experience a Fatal Error when starting or playing Solarpunk. In many cases we have seen so far, this is not caused by the PC being too weak. The issue is often related to Windows updates, graphics drivers, DirectX, overlays, fullscreen display mode, or specific driver components. We have seen different patterns so far: On some newer Intel Core Ultra systems, the crash may be related to Intel AI Boost / Intel NPU. On some AMD systems, the crash may be related to the AMD graphics driver, fullscreen display mode, overlays, GPU timeout behavior, shader compilation, or CPU worker threads. Please start with the general steps below. If you are using an Intel Core Ultra system, also check the Intel section. If you are using an AMD CPU or AMD graphics card, also check the AMD section. ## Step 1: General steps for all systems ### 1\. Complete Windows Update Please make sure Windows is fully up to date. Open Windows Settings → Windows Update and install all available updates. Also check optional driver updates: 1. Open Windows Settings 2. Go to Windows Update 3. Open Advanced options 4. Open Optional updates 5. Install available driver updates, especially graphics, chipset, display, Intel, NVIDIA, AMD, or system updates 6. Restart your PC, even if Windows does not explicitly ask you to After the restart, check Windows Update again to make sure no updates are still pending. This is important because unfinished or stuck Windows updates can leave DirectX, display driver, or system components in an unstable state. ### 2\. Verify the game files on Steam Please verify the Solarpunk game files: Steam Library → Right-click Solarpunk → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files ### 3\. Update your graphics driver Please install the latest graphics driver for your graphics card. If you are already using the latest driver and the issue started recently, please also try a clean reinstall of the graphics driver or test the previous stable driver version. ### 4\. Disable overlays and background tools temporarily Please temporarily disable overlays and background tools such as: Steam Overlay Discord Overlay NVIDIA Overlay AMD Overlay AMD Metrics Overlay MSI Afterburner / RivaTuner OBS or other recording tools Parsec or other remote-play / virtual display tools Then restart your PC and try launching Solarpunk again. ### 5\. Lower graphics settings If you can reach the options menu, please lower the general graphics quality preset by one or two steps and restart the game. If you are using a high refresh rate, please also try limiting the game to 60 FPS for testing. ## Step 2: Intel Core Ultra / Intel AI Boost / Intel NPU On some newer Intel Core Ultra PCs, the Fatal Error can be related to Intel AI Boost / Intel NPU. Solarpunk does not require Intel AI Boost to run, but on some systems the related driver can cause a crash during startup. ### 1\. Update Intel drivers Please update your Intel drivers, especially if you are using a newer Intel Core Ultra system. This includes: Intel Graphics Driver Intel Chipset Driver Intel NPU Driver / Intel AI Boost Driver Other system drivers provided by your PC or motherboard manufacturer You can find the Intel NPU Driver here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/794734/intel-npu-driver-windows.html After updating your drivers, please restart your PC and try launching Solarpunk again. ### 2\. Try disabling Intel AI Boost / Intel NPU If the Fatal Error still happens after updating your drivers, please try disabling Intel AI Boost / Intel NPU as a temporary workaround. This mainly applies to newer Intel Core Ultra systems. Please follow these steps: 1. Right-click the Windows Start button 2. Select Device Manager 3. Look for a category called Neural processors, Intel AI Boost, System devices, or similar 4. Open that category and look for Intel AI Boost, Intel NPU, or Intel Neural Processing Unit 5. Right-click the Intel NPU / Intel AI Boost device 6. Select Disable device 7. Confirm the warning message 8. Restart your PC 9. Start Solarpunk again Please note: This is only a temporary workaround. You can enable the device again later in Device Manager by right-clicking it and selecting Enable device. Disabling Intel AI Boost should not affect normal gaming performance in Solarpunk, because the game does not require this device to run. ## Step 3: AMD systems On some AMD systems, we have seen Fatal Error crashes that can look like a GPU timeout, graphics driver reset, or crash during shader compilation / early gameplay. This can happen on systems with AMD Radeon graphics cards, AMD Ryzen CPUs, or a combination of both. It does not necessarily mean that your graphics card or CPU is broken. ### 1\. Clean reinstall your AMD graphics driver Please reinstall the latest AMD Adrenalin graphics driver for your AMD Radeon graphics card. If possible, use AMD’s cleanup option or a clean / factory reset installation. If you are already using the latest driver and the issue continues, please also try the previous stable AMD driver version. ### 2\. Try Borderless Windowed mode If Solarpunk crashes after a few minutes in fullscreen mode, please try switching the display mode to Borderless Windowed. Some players reported that the game becomes more stable in Borderless Windowed mode. If you cannot reach the options menu, please continue with the Steam Launch Options workaround below. ### 3\. Try Steam Launch Options as a workaround Some players on AMD systems reported that the Fatal Error stopped after adding the following Steam Launch Options: `-dx12 -workerthreads=4` To add this: 1. Right-click Solarpunk in your Steam Library 2. Select Properties 3. Go to General 4. Find Launch Options 5. Enter: `-dx12 -workerthreads=4` Then restart the game. This workaround may help on some AMD CPU / AMD GPU systems where the crash is related to multithreading, shader compilation, or graphics driver behavior. Please note: This is not guaranteed to fix the issue for every system. If the game becomes less stable or performance gets worse, please remove the launch options again. ### 4\. Reduce display and GPU load for testing Please also try the following: Limit the frame rate to 60 FPS Disable AMD FreeSync temporarily Disable AMD Enhanced Sync temporarily Disable AMD Anti-Lag temporarily Disable AMD Overlay and Metrics Overlay temporarily If you use more than one monitor, test with only one monitor active If your monitor is set to 144 Hz or higher, test 60 Hz temporarily If HDR is enabled, disable HDR temporarily ### 5\. Avoid exclusive Fullscreen mode for now If Borderless Windowed mode solves or reduces the crash for you, please keep using Borderless Windowed mode for now and avoid exclusive Fullscreen mode. This helps us narrow down the issue and suggests that the crash may be related to how fullscreen mode interacts with the graphics driver or Windows display handling. ## Step 4: Send us your crash files If the Fatal Error still happens, please send us your crash files so we can investigate further. The easiest way is to zip this whole folder and send it to us: `C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\Solarpunk\Saved` Please replace `<USER>` with your Windows user name. Crash reports and dump files are usually here: `C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\Solarpunk\Saved\Crashes` Logs are usually here: `C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\Solarpunk\Saved\Logs` Please also include a short description of when the Fatal Error happens, for example: On startup While loading a save During gameplay After pressing a key or moving the mouse After a few minutes of gameplay Only in fullscreen mode Every time or only sometimes Please send everything to: support@rokaplay.com Thank you for your help. We are sorry that some players are experiencing this issue, and we are working on a fix.
On keyboard, you need to hold`T` or `R` , not just press it once. On controller, hold Up on the D-pad and use the right thumbstick to adjust the object’s height. To rotate the object, hold Right on the D-pad and use the right thumbstick. We understand that this is not clear enough right now, and we will improve the UI to make this easier to understand.
To make bread, first craft dough at the workbench. Then place the dough in the furnace and wait for it to bake. Once it is ready, you can take the bread out of the furnace.
If your character gets stuck somewhere in the world, you can use the Respawn button in the menu. This will respawn your character and should free you from the stuck position. You can also respawn your airship if it gets stuck. The airship will be moved upward into the air so it can be used again. You can find these options in the menu. Please note: opening the menu does not pause the game. The world continues running while the menu is open.
If you used Unstuck and returned to the main island while your airship is still on another island, you need to build a new airship dock to call your airship back. If you no longer have enough cotton on the main island to craft a new dock, you can still get more cotton seeds by fishing in the pond on the main island. Please note that this can currently take a while, as cotton seeds may not appear immediately. We are planning to increase the chance of finding cotton seeds, so this recovery situation should become less frustrating in the future. Once you have cotton seeds, plant and grow cotton again. After harvesting enough cotton, you can craft a new airship dock and use it to bring your airship back. In short: fish in the pond on the main island collect cotton seeds grow cotton craft a new airship dock call your airship back We understand that this situation can be confusing and frustrating, and we will try to make recovery from this kind of situation clearer in the future.
We are aware of an issue on PlayStation 5 where older save files may not load correctly. In some cases, the game may create a copied save that starts from the beginning instead. We know this is a serious issue and we are working on a fix as soon as possible. Please do not delete your original save file if this happens. Keeping the original save may be important once the fix is available. We are very sorry for the trouble and understand how frustrating this is. We are treating this with high priority.
The new items added in Update 1.3.0 can be obtained through Merchant Crates. Merchant Crates drop regularly throughout the game, so keep an eye out for them while exploring. Open these crates to discover the new items.
